I unplugged the 4 pin connector to cdi and checked input there and get same 0.34 volts. I pulled my jumper wire and checked voltage at hot and had 13 volts, but as soon as I make the connection to black wire to close the circuit the voltage drops to 0.34. I activate my jumper wire, lights come on, hit starter and quad fires right up running good on choke, before I have a chance to unchoke it to see how it does, it cuts off again with no power to start button and dash lights not working. I made sure to leave the black/white and green wires open so they wouldnot close the kill switch. I checked voltage at the key switch and I had 13 volts at red hot wire, so I made a jumper to bypass key switch to eliminate it as a problem. put key switch in both on and off positions and still nothing. I decide to run tests again and when I hit the starter button I get nothing, look at dash and no nuetral light. At the black/red wire I peak at 51 so I'm thinking maybe the cdi is shot. So next I check the exciter coil at the cdi 6 pin connector.book says minimum of 15 at the blue wire, and I'm reading 18 peak. I put a peak voltage adapter on my multi meter and checked the primary at the coil- book says 100 volts minimum and all I'm getting is 6 volts. fast forward to third day and the quad fires right up and runs with choke but after a minute or so it dies again and will only crank but wont start. I grounded the plug and observed some whitish and some orange spark but not any blue spark. put an inline spark tester on and it showed no spark at all, but the next day tested it again and it had spark but still would only crank with no start. tried to restart and it would crank but not fire up. The quad fired up fine, but just died suddenly as if the kill switch hit. when we put the carb back on it would only run on choke.re-cleaned the pilot circuit and tried it again. 2 weeks ago noticed carb leaking, so her boyfriend put a carb kit in with new gaskets, jets, the whole nine yards. Every once in a while it will start running rough with some backfiring on acceleration and will occasionally just die for no apparent reason.no sputtering, just die like you hit the kill switch. My daughter has a 2007 trx450er, just had new valves installed a few months ago, and it has had some performance issues since. Didnt really want my first post to be a question, but in kind of a bind here with this quad.
